No room for communication, no room for words at all No way that I misunderstood you, you just changed your mind Thought we were fitted, now the world’s falling down But I don’t have your issue, I want to grab as much happiness, happiness that I can A muddied interpretation, in the beginning was the word Funny how time can change things, depending on what you heard I was prepared to break the habit, I could live a lifetime I was prepared to break the habit, live a lifetime Break, break, break the habit Break, break, break the habit In the beginning was the word, Got to get it out of my system In the beginning was the word

Start Me 04:22
My secret life is burning me, drifting in an out of sleep Don’t want no one to talk to me, my conscience is turning me around I drink to drown, drown all my pain Only makes me feel again Feel again Can’t sleep tonight for all the noise, the sounds are in my head The waves that crash upon my feet, break the stillness of my heart I drink to drown, drowm all my pain, Only makes me feel Again Leave me this way, don’t wanna change To feel again, feel again Hold me now, now I’m my own Hold me now, don’t let me go Don’t let me go
3.
I know you follow, I know you follow me I never asked for solitude but I find it suits me You know there are too many people crossing the same time I never asked so it was never mine I do it to myself, I know it's lovely here Now I’m on my own, it’s where i want to be And I know that you travelled across the world To find yourself again You know there are too many people Don’t take the challenge to be themselves Rather be lonely with you than without I do it to myself, I know it's lovely here Now I’m on my own it’s where I want to be Oh you do it to yourselves You know it’s lonely there, now you’re on your own You’ve got some time to care You should love me the way you want me to, do you love me at all I do it to myself, I know it's lovely here Now I’m on my own it’s where I want to be Oh you do it to yourselves You know it’s lonely there, now you’re on your own You’ve got some time to care Too many people crossing the same time Thinking the same thing, playing the same game There’s too many people, thinking the same thing Crossing the same time, playing the same game There’s too many people

3 Things 05:37
Said it before, haven’t I been there too Confused me with your silence, I know you just don’t care I’ve been here too many times and I despise the way you’re thinking Provocative maybe with your narcissistic intention Make me feel low down and get me on the floor Ring me dry of all my hope, then offer me some more What you think you doing keeping me here thinking, love me, leave me, let me be lonely, I’m better off without you now Don’t you come telling me what you think I need When it’s so obvious to me, I need to break free from your greed These mixed feelings I have, where did they come from now? Could only be you, could only be you What you think you doing here keeping me thinking, love me, leave me, let me be lonely, I’m better off without you now Oh when I call, when I call you’re never there in the night, in the night and my soul needs more light, you’re my demon, you’re my devil and I’ve got to let you go, you’re my demon, you’re my devil and I cannot resist now Between you and I when I get over you, I’m free to do as I choose, free to do as I choose, between you and I when I get over you, free to do as I choose, don’t give your light away, free to do as I choose, free to do as I choose, don’t give your light away Don’t give your light away

If I am broken hope you understand It’s only a moment, changes all the time Oh the sunlight flashes through my eyes Everything is breathing Everything is back to front now you’re gone There’s no right or wrong Some days I feel sad Sometimes I just feel bad Dig deep you never know (Know, know, know) All the places that you will go (You’ll go, you’ll go, you’ll go) We could reach the other side Come home tonight, come home tonight I see you sitting there, has it been 20 year As I travel through the night Silence beckons me and I call your name From this moment nothing is the same Dig deep you never know (Know, know, know) All the places that you will go (You’ll go, you’ll go, you’ll go) We could reach the other side Come back tonight, come back tonight The moon is slowly rising To the tune of your heart As I watch the stars are shining They are shining just for you The sun is rising, lights your name in the sky The sun is rising, lights your name in the sky Lights your name in the sky

Rock on gold dust woman, take your silver spoon Dig your grave Heartless challenge, pick your path and I'll pray Wake up in the morning, see your sunrise loves to go down Lousy lovers pick their prey, but they never cry out loud. Cry out Did she make you cry, make you break down Shatter your illusions of love And is it over now, do you know how Pick up the pieces and go home. Rock on ancient queen, follow those who pale in your shadow Rulers make bad lovers, you better put your kingdom up for sale, up for sale Well did she make you cry, make you break down Shatter your illusions of love And is it over now, do you know how Pickup the pieces and go home. Well did she make you cry, make you break down Shatter your illusions of love And now tell me Is it over now, do you know how Pickup the pieces and go home Go home, go home Pale shadow of a woman Gold dust woman
7.
Shatter my dreams with love and affection Don’t give it all away, no need to question Tears in your eyes, looking away Never been here before, wont you lead me astray I’ve had a thousand loves, a thousand lives Could it be different between you and I No rhyme or reason why should it be this way Never been here before, think I might stay Don’t give it a, don’t give it a, don’t give it a, don’t give it a Don’t give it away. I’ve had a thousand loves and a thousand lives Could it be different between you and I I’ve had thousand loves and a thousand lives Could it be different between you and I I’ve had a thousand loves and a thousand lives Wouldn’t be different even if I tried Even I tried
8.
Breathe, breathe me in Let me soak through skin Lie next to me, through the night Tell me what you see, all your dreams and fantasies Swimming your head before I sleep If I fall in the middle of your heart Whether we ride this life together Be awake for me Move over here Come sit by my side Hold me closely day and night Less is more, give me more of what I need Breathe, breathe, breathe me in If you fall in the middle of your life Feel like times running out, we wont break We will grow together Know that you are loved, you are loved here and now and forever I wont let you go ‘til the sun burns out on me Bless this moment, bless this moment, bless this moment You’re the only one, you’re the only one, you’re the only one You’re the only one, you’re the only one
9.
Why do you choke, when freedom is on your mind Why do you joke, when you’re always out of time Why do you choke, when freedom is on your mind Why do you joke, when you’re always out of time Why do you lie, when all you want is honesty Why do you lead, when you don’t know where you want to be Why do you hate, when all you want to do is love Why do you judge, there’s no difference between you and me Did I, oh I oh I I oh I did I oh I oh I did I Come on let’s start again, come on come on, let's start again Did I oh I oh I did I oh I oH I oh I oh Did I Did I Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again Come on let’s start again

about

Sophie Barker’s distinctive and critically acclaimed vocal range, paired with her emotional song-writing skills, have yielded world-wide chart-topping singles, million-selling albums and music collaborations with artists as diverse as David Guetta, Zero 7, Groove Armada, The Egg and Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins).

Perhaps best known as one of the trio of original Zero 7 singers, alongside Sia and Mozez, Sophie’s long-awaited 3rd solo album, ’Break the Habit’ took 4 years to record but sees her more comfortable than ever in her own skin.

Undoubtedly her best work to date, the LP effortlessly flows between her upfront live sound, finely-honed from intense touring and appearances with her band at festivals and venues across the UK and USA, and more atmospheric, mood driven electronica.

Produced by Alex Pilkington, and written by her, with collaborations from Alex, Paul Silver and her band, the album pours out of your speakers like honey. The hypnotic tremolo guitar and soothing vocals of ‘Break The habit’ collide with a timeless low slung drum groove to kick of proceedings, then ‘Start Me’ drops the listener into a haunting world of dream-pop.

The first single, ‘I Do It to Myself’, ups the tempo, as jangly guitars and synths drive this sexy strut of a song into the esoteric harpsichord breakdown, before the effortlessly catchy eponymous chorus hooks you back in. A stunning and totally justified cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Gold Dust Woman’ confirms the breadth of Sophie’s vocal range, before the electronic loops, edgy synths, analogue fx and melancholic vocal delivery of ‘Let’s Start Again’ nail the atmospherics on the second single from the LP and sumptuous outro.

Sophisticated and stylish, packing a punch and full to the brim of lush sonic surprises, it’s another stunning album from this sultry songstress.
